World Premiere Set For Blue Road – The Edna O’Brien Story

The World Premiere of Blue Road – The Edna O’Brien Story will take place at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Written and directed by Sinéad O’Shea, Blue Road is a portrait of Irish author Edna O’Brien, who passed away in July aged 93. Her personal journals, which were shared with O’Shea, are read out in the film by Oscar nominee Jessie Buckley. O’Brien was closely involved with the project prior to her death.

Blue Road is a Sky Original, proudly supported by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland. It is an SOS Production in co-production with Tara Films, produced by Claire McCabe, Sinéad O’Shea and Eleanor Emptage. Executive producers are Barbara Broccoli and Katie Holly, Niamh Fagan for Screen Ireland, Jack Oliver for Sky Arts and Kathryn Ferguson for Tara Films.

The 49th Toronto International Film Festival takes place 5-15 September. Screenings of Blue Road take place on 7, 8, 9 and 14 September. Click here for full details.
