    Blue Road – The Edna O’Brien Story is a portrait of Irish author Edna O’Brien, who passed away in July 2024 aged 93. Her personal journals, which were shared with writer and director Sinéad O’Shea, are read out in the film by Oscar nominee Jessie Buckley. Blue Road will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7.

    Blue Road is a Sky Original produced by Claire McCabe, Sinéad O’Shea and Eleanor Emptage. Executive producers are Barbara Broccoli and Katie Holly, Niamh Fagan for Screen Ireland, Jack Oliver for Sky Arts and Kathryn Ferguson for Tara Films.
