New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) (Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director Jeremy Blocker) is proud to announce full casting for the first two shows of the 2016/17 season, Nat Turner In Jerusalem and Othello.
In William Shakespeare’s Othello – directed by Sam Gold (Fun Home) – David Oyelowo (Royal Shakespeare Company’s The Histories, SELMA) and Daniel Craig (BETRAYAL, SPECTRE) will be joined by David Wilson Barnes (BRIDGE OF SPIES), Marsha Stephanie Blake (ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK), Rachel Brosnahan (HOUSE OF CARDS), Blake DeLong (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812), Glenn Fitzgerald (DIRTY SEXY MONEY), Slate Holmgren (King Lear), Anthony Michael Lopez (The Penalty), Matthew Maher (The Flick), Nikki Massoud (Zealot), Kyle Vincent Terry (Robin Hood), and Finn Wittrock (AMERICAN HORROR STORY).
OTHELLO will feature scenic design by Andrew Lieberman (Look Back in Anger), costume design by David Zinn (An Act of God), lighting design by Jane Cox (Noises Off), sound design by Bray Poor (War), fight direction by Thomas Schall (The Crucible), voice consulting by Andrew Wade (Matilda), and Michael Sexton (Titus Andronicus) will serve as dramaturg and text consultant.
