THE SILENT STORM

THE SILENT STORM is a passionate and provocative love story set on a remote Scottish isle in the 1950s. Aislin’s (Andrea Riseborough) origins are a mystery, she was found washed up on the shore unconscious. Despite her kind and quiet nature she is treated as an outsider by the townsfolk. The local minister, Balor (Damian Lewis) takes Aislin in as his wife and a turbulent marriage ensues. As Aislin struggles to accept her place in the community and the marriage, a violent fight erupts between them. Amidst the chaos, there is a knock at the door: a rugged teenage delinquent (Ross Anderson) has been sent to live with them – his last chance at rehabilitation. Aislin is drawn to this kindred spirit, another outcast. His youthful nature ignites a passion within her, which offers her a way out of a life bound by convention and into the world beyond.
